The Austin 10 was powered by a 1125cc four cylinder side valve engine (good for 21bhp), which drove the rear wheels through a four speed gearbox and open drive shaft to a live rear axle. Suspension was by half elliptic springs all round, and cable operated brakes were fitted.

As with all the Austin range the Ten was updated frequently with improvements made during production and "new" models announced each year.  The Austin 10 is a saloon with a front mounted engine which delivers the power to the rear wheels. It's powered courtesy of a naturally aspirated engine of 1.1 litre capacity. This unit features overhead valve valve gear, 4 cylinder layout, and 2 valves per cylinder. It has an output of 32 bhp (32.4 PS/23.9 kW) of power at 4000 rpm.
